Important note regarding new reports flowing into Quickbooks

When we updated our reports in August, we made some updates that affected your Quickbooks integrations. These changes require you to adjust your mapping settings in order to work correctly. Until you have made these changes, please continue to use our old reports. Old reports will continue to be available for six months, giving you ample time to make these updates.

Here is what changed specifically

Action needed

Your winery may have some workarounds in place, specifically, mapping that was implemented (either by you or a consultant). Until you have adjusted your mapping for enhanced reports to flow correctly into Quickbooks, you should continue to use old reports and NOT use the new version of the Quickbooks v2 report until your Transaction Pro Importer has been updated.  To update your mapping, you'll want to complete this mapping yourself, or hire a consultant that is comfortable with Quickbooks via Transaction Pro Importer.

Important POS Compatibility Announcement

UPDATE: September 19, 2017

Today, Apple is releasing iOS 11 and the Vin65 POS app is fully compatible. Feel free to go ahead and update your tasting room devices. 

Depending on your security preferences, the newest version of the Vin65 app (4.0.5) will either automatically download, or you may have to click 'Update' in the App Store.

To ensure a smooth transition, please double check your printers and any other network devices after you complete the update to be sure they are functioning correctly. Here are some troubleshooting FAQs on the Documentation site just in case.

If you aren't ready to update to iOS 11, don't worry, you can continue to use the previous version of the app.

UPDATE: September 13, 2017

Apple did NOT unveil iOS 11 yesterday in their Keynote as suspected, but are still slated to release iOS 11 on September 19, 2017.

Our team has been working hard and has a potential build up - and we are currently conducting internal QA tests. Once compatibility has been confirmed by Apple, we will send a follow-up email with further instructions.

September 8, 2017:

Apple has indicated that they will unveil iOS 11 next week and release it to all users shortly thereafter.

We cannot guarantee that the Vin65 POS app will work with iOS 11 and strongly recommend that you do NOT update your tasting room devices for the time being.

We are currently testing our Vin65 POS app with the beta versions of iOS 11 that Apple has made available, and we are working towards compatibility.

Please make sure to alert your tasting room staff. We will post updates as they come to this blog post.

Log In Errors to Admin Panel on Mobile Resolved

We had an issue where attempting to log in to the Admin Panel from a mobile device would cause an error. This is now resolved.

Swiping Two Cards on POS Will Now Function Correctly

When swiping first a credit card and then a second credit card for a split tender transaction, or applying a gift card after a credit card, the second swipe would not be read by our system. This is now resolved.

Special Characters Now Work in Printed Receipts

POS Profile attributes with special characters, such as ampersands, will no longer cause printed receipts to fail.

Improvements to SendGrid Integration to Reduce Hard Bounces

Our system was incorrectly categorizing some emails through SendGrid as Hard Bounced. We have resolved this so emails that were previously mis-categorized will instead be marked as Soft Bounce going forward so you do not lose permanent access to these email addresses.

POS Improvements for Taxes, Characters Limits and Cash Drawer

In an effort to continually improve our Point of Sale experience, we have implemented 3 adjustments: 

  • We have adjusted the UI so if you're using Custom Tax 3, the number displayed will match the accurate calculation of tax on the order 
  • When entering a POS Title for a product in the Admin Panel with more than 50 characters, saving your edits will no longer result in an error
  • When refunding an order that is not cash, the cash drawer will no longer open automatically, and will only open for cash sales/refunds

Gift Memberships Notification Error Resolved

When gift memberships are enabled, some non-gift club orders incorrectly displayed “This is a gift membership order”. This has been resolved.

Tax Now Calculates Correctly on Product Bundle Refunds

When refunding a product bundle the tax will now calculate correctly based on the parent bundle SKU.
