New: Improvements to the Orders Section

Your input is always at the core of our effort to improve WineDirect's functionality and ease of use. Today, we're thrilled to preview new improvements to the Orders section! Orders now offer a more intuitive workflow and updated functionality, meaning you'll save valuable time that you can reinvest in your winery.

These updates are a reflection of our customers' insights gathered from the WineDirect Ideas forum, our in-person conversations with you, and all of the other avenues we use to keep in touch.

Highlights of the improvements include a number of new order filters by popular demand, new design icons that make your workflow more intuitive and greater order detail where you need it most.

Here's what's new!

Order Search

  • An assortment of new order filters will help you find the information you're looking for in fewer clicks. You can now sort by:
    • Customer Email
    • Club
    • Club Shipment
    • Shipping Strategy
    • Shipping Type
    • Ship State
    • Pickup Location
  • You can select and filter multiple order types at once.
  • When you search for an order by address, the system will filter both billing and shipping addresses simultaneously.
  • The Clear button is now named Reset.

Order List

  • New icons in the Actions dropdown help you easily identify your next step.
  • You can now see how many orders are selected before performing a bulk action.

Orders With Icons

  • Table headers help you identify information included in columns.
  • You can intuitively navigate to an order with new clickable order numbers.
  • You can view an order's time of processing, and if applicable, its club and club shipment names.
  • You'll see visual indicators if an order has customer order notes, winery notes or a flag.

Orders Table with Headers

Individual Orders

  • New icons in the Actions dropdown help you easily identify your next step.
  • You have more detailed information at your fingertips on the Refund Review screen, which now displays information consistent with the Order screen.

We hope these updates improve your day-to-day operations and enhance your experience on our platform. Tell us what you think of the changes soon!

It would be great to be able to search/sort/filter by Customer type. For example seeing orders from Club Members is something we look for a lot of times. Also, being able to sort by Ship Status and Payment status would help. Especially for future ship dates.

I LOVE the new filters in the Store! One thing I'd suggest is having multiple selections available for Ship State, just like in Order Type.

I love the new additions to orders. The time stamp is great! I love that I can change a pick up to a ship to now as were before we couldn't. thank you!

Hi. Love the addition of the time to each transaction, will you be rolling this across the reporting on the App as well? This would be very helpful with management. Thanks

Hi, I have a question regarding the new orders functionality. I have looked at the preview, and it has seemed to change how the individual customer’s order history looks in their file as well. Currently, we can look at order history and see any pending/declined orders from that customer. However, with the new order functionality preview, it no longer shows the pending or declined, just completed orders. Is there a way to see all completed and pending orders in a customer’s file, OR do we have to go back to the store and search the customer’s name, every time we want to look at their full history?

Thanks!

Looks like this has now been disabled - is it coming back?

Karl - We temporarily disabled this feature over the weekend in preparation for its full rollout Nov. 1, when all users will switch over to the updated interface. It will be re-enabled for you today!

Melissa - Thanks for your feedback. We've received similar comments from a number of other wineries, and will be adding back the functionality to easily view pending/declined orders soon.

I like that there is an indicator that says the order has notes, however, instead of just saying the order has comments when you hover over the comment bubble/indicator, it would be nice if it displayed the comment.

When a Will Call order is flipped to a Ship order via "Change Pickup To ShipX" the sales taxes are not adjusted to match that of the county that the order was changed to ship to - Do the Store's new features fix this?

Is there any way you can widen the columns in the Store's main page, but also within the customer's individual Contact-Store page? With the new display of information (ie: Club batch billing) the information is squished into a narrow column, which requires additional scrolling if viewing multiple orders and/or "Products Purchased" is needed.

This is a tiny thing, but is there anything to be gained by having the hash in front of the order number? This may take up space needed for longer order numbers (though if that field is expandable, that won't apply.)

Also, here's a vote for order numbers that aren't blue (or any color). :)

It looks like this change kicked out Declined orders, which causes a huge hindrance on Club billing efforts when Club Members customize their orders (these are manually billed as a control point) and their card declines. When the credit card is updated the declined order serves as a reference point to ensure that they are re-billed for the correct wines. Of course I understand that clearing the declined orders cleans up the Contact's Store, but it would be more helpful if the winery could either elect which declined orders go m.i.a. or have the option to hide/unhide declined orders.

Katie - To address your questions: 1) These updates do not include changes to the "Change Pickup To ShipX" tool, unfortunately. 2) Regarding comments on declined/pending orders, a number of other customers have expressed similar sentiments. Our team is working to restore access to declined orders in a contact's record. 3) If you'd like to suggest changes to column width anywhere in the platform, please post to ideas.winedirect.com!

What you've done here is great. The only addition I would love to see is a symbol, color or call out who is a club member in the store (including on-hold members). This would allow for us to see at a glance which customers in the store are club members. This is different from an actual CLUB order which is already being displayed clearly.

I really like the changes. I would also like the ability to hover over the order number and comments to view the contents without having to click into the order.

Will there be a way to add tracking numbers if the label was created separately from the order?

The option of "pick up at winery" is not good for me. It is against the law in Napa for customers to pick up wine at my winery. Please remove it from my store. Thanks.

Can you please add 'inventory pool' to the order details. Would make it so much easier than having to run a report. Thanks!

On a members account you have included the # in front of order numbers. This is not necessary and makes it impossible to copy an order number and paste it in a search field without the # in front or a space at the end of the order number. Both of these things cause an order number to be be unsearchable.

Commenting has been turned off.
