What are the benefits of joining the Early Adopters Program?

You get our newest features first in exchange for assistance with testing and providing feedback. Your feedback while testing is crucial and can influence further development of the feature. Feedback helps us ensure the features we are developing are complete and polished but before we release them to all wineries.

How does testing new features work?

An email will be sent out by the Product Manager in charge of the feature explaining how the feature works and why it will benefit your winery.  If you’re interested in that feature, you can opt in to use it. You only opt in to features that you want to (although, we encourage you to try everything!)

What are the risks of joining the program?

Before a feature is moved into beta, it goes through rigorous testing by our developers, product managers, QA and support teams. Since everyone works a little different in our system and may have different configurations, we cannot account for every scenario, and this is where you come in! Once we are confident a feature has been thoroughly QAed, we ask our beta testers for help. However, from time to time, early adopters do find bugs or gaps with the new features they are testing, but we view this as an opportunity to help us improve the feature via a feedback loop.

What if I find a bug?

If you find a bug while trying out a new feature, you can report it to either support@winedirect.com or directly to the Product Manager you are working with. WineDirect is able to turn features on/off for you very quickly, so if there is a bug interfering with your workflows, we can temporarily turn it off for you until it has been resolved. We aim to fix bugs in active development as soon as possible.

What if I find a feature gap?

If something about the feature isn’t working for you, we encourage you to report it to the Product Manager assigned to the feature. They want your feedback, after all, you’re the product experts! The PM will evaluate the feedback and prioritize your request if it has been selected for development.

What is expected of our Early Adopters?

We love when you opt in to features - we love it even more when you test and try everything possible within a feature. We want our product experts (you!) to help us fill the gaps that we may have missed. So what exactly do you need to do? A Product Manager may ask you to complete a series of tasks via email and report back or they may see if you are available to do a short user testing session. Even if you love the feature and it’s working well, we want to hear from you!

Does everyone in the winery need to test the features?

We do need Early Adopters who are authorized to sign up for everyone at the winery. Many of the features that we release require that everyone at the winery see the feature so everyone at the winery should be aware and participate. It is a good idea to let your staff, including tasting room staff know about the new features, so they can test them out too.

Please be sure to read our Terms & Conditions for the program.
