New POS User Security Settings

Starting today, you can control which team members can remove a SKU from an order after it has been sent to a prep area in your tasting room. This provides an additional layer of tracking accuracy and control.

By default, all users are enabled to remove SKUs from an order. If you would like to remove this permission, please update your Security Groups settings by checking the box next to POS - Prevent user from removing items sent to prep area.

Note: This change only applies to wineries using our Restaurant Tools in the POS.

This is a great feature and one that I have been asking for. However there needs to be a way to remove the item by a manager. One way would be to have a split check feature so the server could split the item off and a manager could later void that item. Things happen, guests change their mind, we occasionally have to comp food, etc.

Hi Leslie - thank you for your comment. We are working on adding the ability to permission users to remove SKUs after they are sent to prep. When it is live, we will update this post. For the moment, if you need to remove an item please use the price override feature to apply a $0 charge. Thanks!

Update: We have adjusted our settings so you can control which staff members can/cannot remove SKUs already sent to prep. I have updated the blog post above to reflect this change.
