Point of Sales Systems

Any point of sale system (POS) can connect to Vin65 if they connect/program to our webservices/APIs. Each POS can connect to different aspects of Vin65 so we recommend contacting your POS current provider, or calling several POS providers to find out which would work best for you. Below is a list of the POS systems that currently connect with Vin65.

The data that may gets synced includes but it not limited to (please contact your POS system for a full list of items synced):

  • Customer recored
    • Billing address
    • Shipping address
    • Contact types
  • Orders
    • Ecommerce orders
    • POS orders
  • Wine cub memberships.
  • Credit cards (encrypted)

Consider these two examples:

  1. A customer generates a "pickup order" on the website and the customer comes to the tasting room to pick it up. The POS system can mark that order as being picked up and that record is now back on the web.
  2. A customer places an order for shipment in the tasting room.  When the tracking number is generated it will show up on the website (in the customer’s order history) and can be emailed to the customer.

Other Webservices used by POS systems:

  • Orders: Tasting room orders are pushed from the POS software into the web. Customers can view both tasting room and ecommerce order history online. Furthermore the Vin65 list builder will query against the tasting room orders.  Website orders are pulled into the POS system and available through POS reporting tools.

Does it matter when I connect my POS to Vin65? Before I launch my website or after?

No, you can start them at the same time, start with the POS, or start with the website. Whenever you want to connect the systems, please contact your POS provider.

What happens if my tasting room loses internet connection?

Your POS will typically store the information you enter into it. When your connection comes back it then syncs all information to Vin65 and all information from Vin65 to your POS that happened during the non-connection period.

How do I connect my POS to Vin65?

To connect Vin65 with your POS system, you need to create a ‘Webservice Account’ for them within your Vin65 site. Learn how to set up a webservice account »

Then email your POS provider the username and password for that account.

If I use a POS system, are there any extra fees?

Yes/No. You can connect any POS system to Vin65 through our webservices/APIs. We don’t charge for this connection, however, we do have limits on the amount of ‘connection’ a POS system can make to Vin65 each month. Please contact Vin65 to inquire about these limits and fees. Support@vin65.com.
